Safety Watch is run by the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA), which safeguards medical products quality, safety and efficacy in Zambia.

Reporting makes a big difference

Your report plays a key part in keeping others safe. Your experience can ensure that all healthcare products can continue their positive impact on peoples’ lives, by helping ZAMRA identify new safety issues as early as possible.

Safety Watch receives reports from the public and when appropriate, publishes safety alerts for ZAMRA-regulated products such as:

  • Prescription and general sale medicines
  • Biologics such as vaccines, blood and blood components, blood/plasma derivatives and gene therapies.
  • Medical devices such as hearing aids, diagnostic devices, and pacemakers.
  • Combination products such as pre-filled drug syringe, metered-dose inhalers and nasal spray. Latex products such as condoms and gloves.
  • Nutritional supplements and Herbal products.
  • Cosmetics such as moisturizers, makeup, shampoos, hair dyes and tattoos.
