The Veterinary Allied Substances service regulates veterinary medical devices, diagnostic products, disinfectants, veterinary consumables, and other allied products used in animal health. The service ensures that veterinary allied substances comply with applicable standards for safety, quality, and performance before they are manufactured, imported, distributed, or supplied in Zambia.
The regulatory process includes product evaluation and registration, licensing, import and export oversight, inspections, and post-market surveillance. By ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, the Authority supports animal health, livestock productivity, food safety, and the responsible use of veterinary health products while contributing to the protection of both animal and public health.
