LUSAKA, Monday, October 16, 2023.Thirty-three (33) Part time Inspectors have been recruited and are currently undergoing training to supplement the efforts of ZAMRA in enhancing efficiency in service delivery, ZAMRA Director General Mr. Makomani Siyanga has said.
He noted that lack of effective regulation of the pharmaceutical supply chain has serious consequences as it may lead to irrational consumption of medicines and allied substances and increased substandard, falsified and counterfeit products on the market.
He said the challenges the Authority was facing can only be mitigated if there was adequate human resource present country wide where the services of the Authority are required.
‘ Among such key officers are Inspectors who are field solders required to enforce and facilitate relevant licensing activities”, he said.
Mr.Siyanga told the participants on Monday, October 16 , 2023 when he officially opened the Training Workshop in Lusaka, that the ZAMRA Board and Management are delighted to recruit part time Inspectors as one of the ways of enhancing efficiency in service delivery.
” I am therefore pleased that the Authority through the Department of Medicines Control is facilitating this training of 33 part time Inspectors selected from across the Country to supplement the efforts of our hard-working staff,” he said. He said, the training will equip the part time Inspectors with the knowledge and skills required to conduct regulatory inspections of the pharmaceutical supply chain on behalf of the Authority.
